SHOR
(St Leonards Health Organisations Relocation)
May 2018 - June 2020
Creating and identifying employment opportunities was a priority for the Multiplex SHOR team, and this aligned with the client, Health Infrastructure’s vision to attract and support community groups that suffer disadvantage.
Through the centrally located centre at our Westmead project, the Connectivity Centre worked closely with the SHOR team, to support the social deliverables on this project. As a result the Connectivity Centre facilitated the employment of 30 candidates. Many of whom had not had a job before.
On the basis of the successful outcomes at SHOR, a number of the subcontractors sourced their candidates through SHOR for projects relating to other builders throughout NSW.
Client: Health Infrastructure
The Centre helped me with a much better career path. I love my job. It is amazing. The company is good. The people are good. I could not have picked a better job. It picked me up to a better spot. I am now financially and mentally better
This is a great opportunity to build a career. I’m a lot happier and less stressed because I have proper routines and have developed discipline.
The best part of this job are the people I am with. They’re good people and don’t make it like its work because I’m having fun. Also, from the skills I’ve picked up, I have been fixing all the taps at my home and my relatives and friend’s homes.
I’m earning money and making something of myself. Everyone in my family are happy for me and tell me I’m doing well in life.
Many of the candidates said that the program(s) have helped them gain confidence, a career path and improved their overall wellbeing.
